Jaguars, Jets and the JEC

Last weekend saw the Jagaur Enthusiasts’ Club Surrey Hants Border spring meeting at Brooklands Museum. Brooklands is an amazing place to visit on a normal day with everything from vintage racecars to fighter jets, from motorbikes to pushbikes; they even have Concorde! Add to that an amazing display of Jaguars and a great gathering of enthusiasts it really was a hard day to top. Bucking the trend of all our outings thus far this year there was even a strange yellow orb floating in the sky and we remained dry all day.

Twyford Moors Classic Cars stand at Brooklands with XK120 DHC (drophead) and XK120 race car

On our stand we had the XK120 DHC we have up for sale (soon to be featured in Classic and Sports Car) magazine), which behaved itself impeccably on the journey there and back, and was an absolute joy to drive. There was much interest our stunning drophead, which I believe was the only one at the show, but the real star of our stand, was the very special XK120 OTS racecar which we also have for sale. The racecar has a fantastic history, starting in the US as a racer and then coming across here where is has dominated the XK racing scene.

We had a fantastic day at the event. It is always great to speak to customers, enthusiasts and suppliers alike and is a good opportunity to gauge what’s happening in the Jaguar scene. There was an amazing collection of Jaguars at the show and it is lovely to see old and new sat alongside one another.

A highlight was watching the Test Hill Runs that were put on by the JEC. There was a great variety of cars going up the hill including XK140s, XJSs, E-Types and even an SS100.

We would like to thank the JEC and all the members for putting on such a great event.
