Restoration
Jaguar XK120, XK140 and XK150 are difficult cars to restore properly. There is normally substantial corrosion and as bodywork was hand finished at the factory there are considerable variations from car to car. Skilled panel work and plenty of XK experience are required to achieve the correct line and panel fit. Over the years we have learnt that partial restorations are seldom satisfactory.
There is no substitute for a complete “nut and bolt” restoration. We start by completely stripping the XK to a bare shell and chassis. The chassis is then shot blasted and every area of corrosion is removed and repaired. We then “hot zinc spray” the chassis to offer long lasting protection from rust and finally the chassis is painted back. Beyond this point our restorations are carried out to the customers exact specification. We encourage our customers to come to the showroom and workshop to see what’s possible and discuss their options with our staff. Our customers have control over every aspect of the finished car from paint and trim colours, to upgrades for modern motoring, to race or rally specification modifications. Please follow the links below to see the various options available. Although we restore cars to any specification, from concourse to highly modified, our focus is on creating driveable and enjoyable classics. The sheer amount of use our customers get our of our fully restored cars is a testament to this. Our full restorations make great cars for regular use as they are driveable, reliable and comfortable. The added protection we give the body and chassis throughout the restoration means you have no need to fear using the car in the rain or getting it dirty. Our restored XKs also regularly compete in the toughest road events and tours such as the famous Hero, Lands End To John O'Groats (LeJog) and most importantly finish. If you want a beautiful looking, reliable and usable Jaguar XK one of our full restorations is the only way to go.
