Jaguar XK120 DHC LHD 1953 – for sale

Originally exported to the USA this car was sold by the notable European car importer Max Hoffman. Hoffman was based on the east coast of the US and went on to open a large dealership in New York in 1954. At the time the car was finished in Black with a Red interior and a Sand hood.

Little is known of the cars' early history but by 1992 it was still on the east coast of the USA in the hands of a John Moore in New Jersey. This suggests that the car stayed in that area for most of its life. It was then sold to a Dr Lucia Nuti who kept the car until 1994. At this time it appears the car was still Black so perhaps was in unrestored condition.

In 1994 it came into the possession of the current owner's family and underwent a full nut and bolt restoration in the USA. The restoration work looks to have been done very nicely indeed. The body and paint are nice and the interior and woodwork is in great condition.

In 2018 the car was brought back to the UK and recommissioned. At this time it was also upgraded with a five-speed gearbox, disc brakes and an electric cooling fan. In 2022 the engine was fully rebuilt by an experienced specialist. This car is a delight to drive providing that classic XK120 feel with the added safety of disc brakes and higher cruising speed from the five-speed gearbox.
