Amongst the many improvements our new workshop has brought us is our own in-house storage facility. When we found our new building the ceiling height was not sufficient for car ramps to be fitted so we knew we would have to remove the existing interior and create a new mezzanine floor. This gave us the opportunity to design the interior from scratch and make the first floor strong enough to have cars parked on it. This of course offers another set of challenges in terms of getting the cars up four metres but that is a subject for another post.
Pictured here is our new storage facility which spans the area above our workshop. The whole building is air-conditioned and humidity controlled so it provides the ideal conditions to store a classic car. On the first floor, you will find our stock of cars for sale, customers’ cars in storage and cars waiting to come down to the workshop. We hope this storage will allow us to improve efficiency by moving cars which are waiting for parts out of the workshop thus freeing up valuable workshop space.
