Goodwood Revival 2022

We have now packed up and transported all our cars back from the Goodwood Revival, along with an extra XK120 which a new customer asked us to collect directly from Bonhams. As the dust settles from the weekend, much of which is still covering the cars we had on display, we wanted to take a moment to look back on the weekend.

Although it was the same wonderful celebration of high-octane motorsport and vintage fashion, this year's revival has a slightly different tone following the death of Her Majesty The Queen. Some wonderful tributes were put on by Goodwood including a wonderful film followed by a minute's silence. We also spotted a lovely little Paddington Bear tribute. Many exhibitors, competitors and attendees wore black wristbands or ribbons as a mark of respect. There were so many lovely touches throughout the weekend and across the event which kept the memory of the Queen forefront in our hearts and minds.

We had a wonderful weekend on the stand chatting with friends old and new. We had a great line-up of cars ranging from a C-Type replica to an XK150 3.8 S restoration in rolling chassis form. Once again, the HCVA team joined us on the stand for the weekend to promote the good work they do and sign-up new members. It was a delight to be joined by their CEO Garry Wilson and Operations Manager Shan Stokes. Having the HCVA with us gave us a great opportunity to talk to the public about why we joined and why we believe the work they are doing is so vital. Additionally, we were joined by the youngest member of the Twyford Team who, in between many hours at the funfair, helped us keep the cars looking shiny and clean.

Across the weekend we were able to catch bits of the racing and were delighted to see some good results for some of our friends and customers. Notably, our customer Philip Champion had a great race in the Freddie March trophy in a Frazer Nash and our friend Jack Rawles achieved an incredible 5th place in the same race driving an Austin Healey 100S. The St Mary's Trophy for saloon cars is always a highlight of the Revival and did not disappoint this year. Even when we cannot make it across to the circuit to watch the racing in the flesh, we were lucky enough to have a great view of one of the big screens and could often be found out in front of the stand watching the action.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to put on such a fabulous event and thank you to everyone who came to visit us. We will be back again in 2023 and we are already looking forward to it. Our next show will be the Classic Motor Show at the NEC in November and we look forward to seeing some of you there
