For classic car enthusiatst there is surely no greater pleasure than returning a vehicle that some might have thought was beyond restoration to the road. This certainly rings true for all of us at Twyford Moors and completing a full restoartion is always a great moment of pride for the whole team. Despite having spent many house up close with the car working on the fine detail you are so fucused on the job in hand you rarely get to appreciate the car a a whole. As a result, even for those of us who have test driven the car, the first time we see one of our full restorations fully valeted and ready to be collected in the showroom is a very special moment. It is the first real opportunity we get to stand back, take in the car as a whole and appreciate the finished product.
It was a great pleasure to hand over the fully restored Jaguar XK140 drophead coupé pictured here to its owner after a 20 month restoration. Twyford Moors recovered this original right hand drive XK140 DHC as a "barn find" in the summer of 2015. The restoration was then commissioned and we first took a spanner to her in August of 2016. Over the past year and a half this XK140 has had every component stripped and restored to the highest standard and any missing parts have been sourced and replaced. The car was built to the owners specification to include a number of sympathetic upgrades whist retaining a standard outward appearance.
All the Twyford Moors team would like to wish the new owner many happy years with his XK140 and we know he will gain as much pleasure from driving the car as have have from undertaking the restoration.
