We are teaming up with our friends at Classic Travelling to host a 9-day tour to St. Moritz for the British Classic Car Club Meeting. If you are looking for a trip to make the most of your classic XK or E-Type, taking in fantastic driving roads with great company, good food, and lovely hotels, then look no further. The tour will run from the 30th of June to the 8th of July.
Nik and Hazel (Twyford Moors directors) recently took part in Classic Travelling’s tour to Angoulême for the Circuit des Remparts and were so impressed that we are now joining forces to create what we believe is the perfect tour for classic Jaguar lovers. The team at Classic Travelling organise some wonderful tours, both within the UK and abroad. The focus is on enjoyable and relaxing motoring trips that take in beautiful locations, fun driving roads, and comfortable hotels. These are social, fun tours, allowing you to get out and use your classic car as intended. Given that we are all about creating reliable and drivable cars, Classic Travelling are the perfect partners for us.
Here’s what Classic Travelling have to say about the trip:
“The British Classic Car Meeting St. Moritz (BCCM) is celebrated as a sophisticated gathering for classic car enthusiasts from all over Europe and the UK. Since 1994, this event has showcased elegance and style in the stunning Alpine resort of St. Moritz. Each July, over 100 British classic cars from before 1980 gather for scenic drives, a regularity test rally, and the prestigious Concour of elegance. Additionally, newer models with unique features may be invited to participate in the "Young Classics" category, enriching the event's offerings.
Classic car tour experts ‘Classic Travelling’ have put together a fabulous eight-night itinerary to take you to the 31st edition of this this prestigious event. The itinerary takes you through France with an overnight in Troyes and up the hills of the Jura region. As we head into Switzerland, we break the journey on Lake Brienz where there is time to enjoy some Swiss gems such as the Piz Gloria and Schilthorn spectacular panorama.
The tour then takes in some of Switzerland’s best mountain passes the Grimsel, Furka and Susten, as we arrive in St Moritz for three nights to enjoy the BCCM event.
The fun does not stop after the weekend, we will then be joined by members of the Swiss XK register for a special route and lunch devised by them and a stop at Donni Classic Cars. We round off the tour with an overnight stop in Liestal, dinner will be amongst the cars at a very special private car collection. The following morning, we will stop at Cite de l’Automobile ‘Schlumpf collection’.
The tour is open to British classic cars, but our aim is to attract as many XK and E-Type owners and drivers as possible. We hope you will join us.”
