Twyford Moors cars leave for Classic Jaguar Tour of Australia

Late in November, on a grey and damp day, Australia seems like a different planet. Never the less Australia and the challenges involved in getting a car into the country let alone driving across the country were the focus of our efforts here at Twyford. Three of our customers had requested that we prepare their XKs (an XK140 DHC and a pair of XK150S dropheads) for the rally. After a full service, check over and all the maintenance and repairs needed were done attention turned to cleaning the cars. Although we're used to thoroughly valeting cars, getting cars though Australian immigration called for something more. After several days of scrubbing, hoovering, varnishing, painting and polishing every spec of dirt had been removed from under the cars and every bug had been tweezed out of the radiators; the cars were ready to go. The XKs were then loaded onto an enclosed car transporter and are now on their way to Australia.

The rally starts in February and runs from Sydney to Adelaide. We wish our customers and everyone else on the rally the best of luck and look forward to reports from them on the road.
