West Sussex E-Type and XK Club members visit

We were delighted to host a meeting for members of the West Sussex E-Type and XK Club. The visit was organised by Steve Jackman, the West Sussex regional representative of the E-Type Club. It was a great opportunity to allow members of the club in to see what we do here. Our visitors came in a great variety of cars including a few E-Types, a Jaguar MK2 saloon and even a rather delightful Sunbeam Rapier.

After a few minutes of chatting about all things classic cars in the showroom whilst all our visitors arrived, the group were taken through to workshops for a guided tour. We were able to show the club members around some of the servicing and upgrade work we were carrying out in the main workshop along with talking them through the step-by-step process of a full nut and bolt restoration. With several cars in the workshop undergoing restoration ranging from bare chassis being built up to cars just receiving their finishing touches it was a wonderful opportunity for us to demonstrate the level of craftsmanship which goes into these cars at every step of the way. We had a wide range of questions, mainly in relation to our visitor’s own cars.

After the tour, we stopped for some tea, coffee and cake provided by Steve and Jean Jackman with assistance from their friends Valarie and David. Many thanks to them for organising the visit and all the efforts they went to. Steve and Jean also put on a wonderful vintage/classic car festival in West Sussex called Floral Fringe which is well worth checking out. Thank you to everyone who visited and we hope to see you again at a future event.

If you are involved in a car club or group and would like to visit our workshops, please get in touch to see if we can accommodate a tour.
